Luciana Paluzzi

Actress Luciana Paluzzi was one of several sexy Italian brunettes groomed for global fame following the success of Gina's Lollobrigida. Following her work on both the coasts of the Atlantic in the 1950s in films such as Three Coins in the Fountain, (1954), and Sea Fury, (1958), Luciana Paluzzi got a shot at American TV fame in the role as Simone Genet in the spy weekly Five Fingers in 1959. In 1965, she was contacted by the Bond producers in order to audition for Domino Derval, the lead character in Thunderball. Terence Young, the director suggested that she be given Fiona Volpe the role as the villain. Fiona was among the very few women who could resist the temptation of Mr. Bond Perhaps as a the punishment, Fiona is killed on the dance floor by her own friends, and James takes her body to the table nearby and tells her "Do you want to be a colleague sits on this one? The fault is not with her. Luciana Paluzzi was able to continue her European career through the 70s by directing this film.
